USA Waste & Recycling

The Project

Role: Social Media/ Graphic Design Intern

Project Type: Marketing Campaign

Tools: Illustrator

Year: 2025

Throughout the second half of 2025 and into 2026, I had the pleasure to serve as an intern for USA Waste and Recycling. Originally hired for one company, I was able to expand my role into other Antonacci Family businesses such as All American Waste, GreatHorse, and The Starting Gate.

During my time at USA, I was able to develop several projects including establishing a social media calendar for all 4 companies, social media campaigns, revising the existing company newsletter, and more!

USA Social Media Platforms

During my time at USA, my most impactful project was developing a cohesive and exciting social media presence for the company. I wanted to create something in which emphasized USA’s brand and captured all the commendable work done.

This included developing weekly series post such as:

Recycling Right Slides:

Carousels showcasing recycling insights for upcoming holidays or events. Urging the viewer to avoid waste and/or the proper recycling of it.

“USA University”: Began as a weekly series of reels covering the proper disposal of certain items.

Event Recaps:

USA sponsors and hosts several events across the New England area, benefiting local communities and causes. At an aim to highlight these, the event recap series captures these moments.

“A Look Around”:

For a company as large as this, there are several different departments and locations that often go unnoticed. Here, I try and feature the various locations and their efforts.

Internal Newsletter

One of my first projects as an intern was to revise the company’s internal newsletter. Highlighting all the events, employee work, and good that the Antonacci Family Businesses do, I wanted to elevate the original design in a more organized and easy-to-read format.

I also developed the newsletter to fit both print and web, alongside translations in Spanish and Polish for all employees.

Social Media Campaigns

GreatHorse:

Alongside my work for USA, I was later brought on to develop the social media platforms for their sister companies; GreatHorse, a private golf club and The Starting Gate, the club’s special event venue. Prior to beginning, I developed a proposal in which I layed out goals and objectives, platform focus, sample posts, a set up of the content calendar and more to help seamlessly see the benefit and action behind a cohesive social media presence.

USA Waste and Recycling / All American Waste Hiring:

Both USA and AAW in early 2026 opened positions for new welders and diesel mechanics. I was tasked to create social posts for our pages highlighting the position at an aim to gain traction. Within the campaign, I designed a series of story posts, static graphics and videos to bring attention towards the position.
