NOURISH NET

The Project

Role: Designer

Project Type: Mobile Interaction

Tools: Figma

Year: 2024

Food insecurity remains a widespread issue, exacerbated by economic hardship and lack of access to nutritious food. Many individuals struggle to find reliable sources of meals due to transportation barriers, dietary restrictions, and fluctuating living conditions. Nourish Net aims to bridge this gap by offering a user-friendly solution tailored to different needs.

Nourish Net is a nonprofit mobile application designed to connect individuals in need with local food services and shelters. By leveraging intuitive UI/UX design, responsive logos, and structured information architecture, this app prototype ensures accessibility, usability, and effectiveness for diverse users facing food insecurity.

Design Approach

Logo Sketches

I wanted to highlight the prototypes double “N’s” while keeping the initial logo as the leaf, playing on the the planishing of food.

Compositions

Taking my initial drawings I decided to make compositions, allowing the colors to play into the logo

Final Design

Color Studies

Playing into the greens of leaves, I decided on a neutral palette that allows for small accents of the pink and brighter greens.

Information Architecture

The Impact

The prototype demonstrates the basic tasks for users on the app, including user flows for new and returning users and the main menu items.

By incorporating thoughtful UI/UX strategies and extensive research, Nourish Net serves as a vital tool for individuals facing food insecurity.
